PRACTICE NURSES

The Nursing team (Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistant) are available each day for routine procedures. The practice nurses are also available each day to treat minor illnesses and assess urgent problems, for onward referral to a GP when appropriate.

Sr Mary Hemingway (B.Sc, RGN, Family Planning Nurse)
Specialises in diabetes care, family planning and teenage health.

Sr Christine Day (RGN)
Specialises in asthma and respiratory disease care.

Health Care Assistant – Ann Harris
Duties include blood tests, new patient checks, blood pressure checks, ECGs and assisting with medicals.

Receptionists – our trained Receptionists can help you with all queries and general (non medical) advice and can arrange for you to see the doctor or nurse. All problems are dealt with in confidence.

Dispensers – our trained dispensers are available everyday to dispense your medication and answer any queries you have.

Medical Secretary - Tracey Senescall our Medical Secretary provides administrative and secretarial support to the Doctors and the whole practice.

Practice Manager - Mrs Diane Faux is responsible for the day to day organisation and smooth running of the practice. If you have any comments about the services provided by the practice, please telephone or make an appointment to see her.

DISTRICT NURSES
Sr Jeannie Dykes (DN) and Lynne Chambers (RGN) are based at Market Cross Surgery but they work as part of a larger team of District Nurses. Other members of the team may deputise from time to time. The District Nurses provide nursing services to the housebound and those recently discharged from hospital unable to attend surgery. The District Nurses can be contacted via the surgery.

HEALTH VISITORS
Health Visitors Sarah Lindsay and Madeleine Dowie are assisted by Clare Huxley (Nursery Nurse) and Linda Coleman (H/V Assistant). Attached to the practice, the Health Visiting Team provides advice on healthcare to all ages, but particularly to families with pre-school children. Other services include Child Health Clinics, Post Natal Support Groups and baby massage courses. Please telephone them on 01476 550894 for advice and information.

MIDWIFE
Sr Roseanne McKee shares antenatal care with the GPs, running a weekly clinic. She can be contacted via the surgery.

PRACTICE COUNSELLOR
Owen Davies, our Practice Counsellor provides counselling for patients referred by the doctor.
